The Bookkeeping Certificate teaches practical skills in the accounting field. National certification in a leading accounting software package is a part of this program. Students completing the certificate are employed in a variety of position such as AP, AR or payroll clerks for entry level positions.

The Accounting Assistant Certificate emphasizes practical skills in the accounting field as well as providing an introduction to business management. Embedded in the certificate is a national certification in a leading accounting software package. Students completing the certificate are employable as AP, AR or payroll clerks or any entry level accounting support position.

The Application & Desktop Support Specialist certificate teaches Desktop Support duties that include the daily operation and support of computers across local area networks, application-level technical assistance to end-users and creation of written documentation. Students are prepared to take the industry-standard certification tests from COMPTIA.

The C++ Programming certificate introduces students to the concepts of writing, compiling, debugging and executing C++ programs that meet the application requirements. This is a versatile coding language, and a great introduction to coding.

Technical assistants work in a wide range of industries, and offer technological support to each organization's employees so that the business has the ability to deliver its products and services. Tasks can include configuring hardware and software, especially for new employees, and installing peripherals such as printers and routers.  Many fill in at a help desk and assist users directly on network, software, and communication issues, and repair or refurbish equipment when taken out of use or upgraded.

 

 
 

Network engineers plan, construct and maintain networks so that they are optimized and operating efficiently.  While network technicians, helpdesk technicians, and IT administrators solve daily IT troubleshooting issues, the network engineer manages the high-level task of designing and improving networks, essentially establishing the tech foundation for an organization. Daily responsibilities can include creating and implementing physical and wireless networks, researching and integrating new technologies.

The Server Administrator Certificate allows students who have already completed some prerequisite courses in networking to advance. It allows students to specialize in Linux, Microsoft and Cisco OS configuration, management and security. With the constantly-changing demands on administrators familiar with the latest security concepts and best practices in the field, these careers are in high demand.  Employment options include positions such as

Earning a certificate in network infrastructure technology opens doors to a career as an network infrastructure technician, the person responsible for supporting internal and external customers. It includes providing training and tools to help them become more productive, and also requires troubleshooting non-routine problems when they arise within the network.
